About Me

I'm Jayna, and I live for new experiences. My love for travel comes from visiting different countries, trying out new activities and tasting every local vegetarian dish I can find.

I fell into solo travel during a trip to South East Asia with a friend, but due to a disagreement, I ended up finishing the trip alone (we're all good now, by the way). What started off as a daunting situation quickly turned into one of the best experiences of my life. Being on my own pushed me out of my comfort zone, helped me connect with other travellers, and built my confidence to go it alone.

If you’ve ever let hesitation, fear, or waiting on someone else hold you back from travelling, this is for you.

Sometimes, the best journeys begin when you decide to just go for it.

Purpose.

Coming from an Asian background, I've often faced hesitation from my friends and family about travelling alone, especially to countries they saw as 'unsafe'. I want to share my stories to help ease some of these concerns for others who experience similar resistance, and to highlight the value solo travel can have.

From my own backpacking experiences, I've rarely met people from the same background as me and through this blog I hope I can encourage more budding travellers to take that step for themselves!

And even if we have nothing in common, I hope you’ll still find something useful here to help you plan your next trip.

What's In Store?

From pre to post travel, I'll be sharing everything - from what to pack, detailed itineraries, accommodation and food recommendations, to unique activities along the way.

You'll find honest accounts of my personal experiences, including the do's and don'ts I've picked up over time.

Through my blog posts, I'll also be answering common questions about the realities of solo travel, the good and the bad.

Not sure where to start?
